Gwen Whiting

Meet Gwen

"It's time to reclaim my legacy." —Gwen Whiting.

Gwen Whiting may not be may not be a household name, but for the past two decades she's been bringing wellness into yours.

In 2004, Gwen pioneered the concept of “niche cleaning” with the launch of The Laundress—the first sustainable laundry and home cleaning brand to offer a luxurious alternative to traditional grocery-store products. Under her leadership, The Laundress redefined the industry and set a new standard for elegance and efficacy, ultimately leading to the brand's acquisition by Unilever
in 2019.

Twenty years later, Gwen is back to reinvent the category once again with The Fill, a collection of wellness-forward, aromatherapy-infused laundry, home cleaning, and fabric care solutions sold exclusively to members of the brand's "private cleaning club."

Widely recognized as the premier authority on fabric care, Gwen's expertise is a rare combination of technical know-how and design sensibility. She began her education in fibers and fabrics at Cornell University where she earned a degree in Textile Science, and further refined her skills at Ralph Lauren Home, applying her knowledge to luxury materials and elevated aesthetics.

For Gwen, true cleaning excellence is about preservation, intention, and care—ensuring the items we love last longer. Her approach has always been practical, purposeful, and deeply personal, creating not just effective solutions, but products designed with people's lifestyles and values in mind.

This belief naturally evolved into a broader philosophy: that caring for your clothing and your home is inextricably linked to caring for yourself. Gwen's own self-care and wellness exploration began in college and sustained her through the demands of building, scaling, and
exiting her first brand. Over the years, her travels and adventures deepened that connection—and she credits the integration of these global practices into her daily rituals for keeping her mentally, emotionally, and physically strong.

These interwoven passions led to the creation of The Fill, built on Gwen's core values, and combining her extensive CPG education and expertise in product development, brand building, and wellness to revolutionize the garment and home care industry once again.
